Honeybush, Organic

Honeybush (Cyclopia plant), like its famous cousin: Rooibos, is native to South Africa and is caffeine free.  The plant grows naturally in the southern and southeast Cape provinces.  The leaves smell of honey and it tastes sweeter than a rooibos tea.  Honeybush is high in antioxidants and has low tannins so it can tolerate a longer steeping without becoming bitter.  The leaves produces a deep red colored tea when brewed.  It's bold yet sweet taste is a nice calorie free drink and the added benefit is the lovely aroma resulting from brewing it in your home.

Tea Tips

Brew with a water temperature of 212°F (100°C) for 5-7 minutes.  Enjoy traditionally hot or try it iced.
